Lydia Mae was born November 3, 1874 in Ionia, Jewel, Kansas. She died on May 15, 1986 in Shawnee, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma. She was
buried in Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Jewel, Kansas.
Lydia married Charles Fremont Alexander on March 25, 1914. Charles was born on November 2, 1871. They had two children together, with her firstborn arriving when she was forty years old.
1. Lawrence Charles Alexander
2. Ruth Aleene Alexander
Lydia Mae was a woman of exceptional kindness, known for her meticulously prim demeanor and her flawless attention to detail. Her appearance was always neat. During her youth, she was courted by Charles Fremont Alexander.
In a moment of defiance and frustration over her discontent with Charles and a strong aversion to Charles' mother, Lydia made the bold decision to flee to Colorado.
Eventually, she returned and found herself sitting on the porch of Mary Anna Hildreth’s home, engrossed in a newspaper. However, her focus wasn't on the articles; it was on the road, where she could glimpse Charles approaching. She had cleverly fashioned a small spyhole in the newspaper, allowing her to watch him approach unbeknownst to him.
In time, Lydia and Charles married. Their journey together took a beautiful turn when, at the age of forty, she welcomed their first child.
