Elizabeth Margaret "Betty", daughter of Caleb and Susannah, was
born on 23 Jul 1866 in Franklin County, Virginia. She died on January 2, 1957 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.
Elizabeth was a remarkably kind and beautiful Christian woman who conducted herself with grace. Elizabeth cherished the company of others, often inviting friends and family to her home.
On December 20, 1885, Elizabeth married Albion Curtis Daggett. Albion was born on November 10, 1865. Elizabeth and Albion had four children:
Mary Ellen Daggett
Martha Aloneta Daggett
John William Daggett
Rufus Lemuel Daggett
When Elizabeth was forty-four years old, she fell gravely ill, suspected to be a battle with cancer. The prognosis was bleak, and the shadows of mortality loomed over her. In the quiet corners of her home, family and friends gathered, their hearts heavy with concern, as they prayed fervently for her recovery and the peace of her soul.
Remarkably, by the grace of God, their devoted prayers were answered, and Elizabeth triumphed over her illness. She and her husband, Albion, shared an enduring partnership that spanned nearly forty-nine years, until his passing in 1934. As the years wore on, Elizabeth found solace in the company of her daughters, living in the warmth of their familial bonds during her twilight years.
Elizabeth Margaret Kinzie Daggett passed away on January 2, 1957, at the remarkable age of 91. Her long and fulfilling life was a testament to her resilience and spirit, leaving behind cherished memories for her family and friends.
Interesting Kinzie fact: Elizabeth married her brother's (Joel) wife's (Nellie) brother. This makes their children double cousins.
Joel and Elizabeth were siblings.
Abion and Nellie were siblings.
